The nineteenth-century catholic renewal within Anglicanism saw a deepening of teaching and practice in the sacramental life of the Church. The use of auricular confession was one such practice and the Catholic renewal movement has continued to teach and reclaim the great gift offered the Christian in penance, confession, and absolution. The assurance of the grace of forgiveness of sins in the Sacrament of Confession will be explained by following its historical practice. The evening’s presentation will include a description of how to make a Sacramental Confession, the benefits of Confession being part of one’s spiritual life, and how Sacramental Confession has been used at The Church of the Advent.
