5.4.2015 // Dr. Sean McDonough // “The Path to Paradise: Creation, Counter-Creation, De-Creation & Re-Creation”

Boston Theology on Tap is proud to host Dr. Sean McDonough on Monday May 4 @ 7p!
davinciDr. McDonough, professor of New Testament and former chair of the Biblical Studies Department at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, MA, has written and lectured extensively on  apocalyptic literature (like the Book of Revelation), creation, heaven, ethics, and even fantasy literature. Later in 2015, his book “Creation and New Creation” is due, and he has graciously agreed to join us for an evening to discuss “The Path to Paradise: Creation, Counter-Creation, De-Creation, and Re-creation.” Sean will discuss God’s great “creation project,” which entails not only creation in the beginning, but also humanity’s efforts to create a counterfeit civilization, God’s response in taking apart what he (and we) have put together (“de-creation”), and his ultimate renewal of all things.

Sean came to Gordon-Conwell in 2000 from Pacific Theological College in Suva, Fiji, where he had served as the Chair of the Biblical Studies Department and as a lecturer in New Testament. Still active in ministry as well as the academy, he teachesSunday School and occasionally preaches at First Congregational Church in Hamilton, and he speaks for Medair, a Christian relief organization based in Switzerland. He’s a great lover of Boston’s sports teams, so join us to give him a huge Boston welcome on May 4 @ 7p!
